Long Strange Trip All Over Again

As we already know, there are a lot of folks out there who like to create astronomically weird shit. Hence, there are a lot of weird web sites and pages, where nothing, and yet everything, makes sense. Here's some of that now.

or better yet, an application. This is a real-time clock, which is helpful if you don't have a clock, which let's face it, most people don't.

and so on. None of it makes sense, but the graphics are sort of cool.

Re-Generate!

As always, I love online generators as applications that allow you to create all sorts of useless stuff online, and also lets you save those nonsensical and frequently offensive items and send them on to friends. There are tons of sites out there that offer generators of all kinds, and a great place to link to these is the Generator Blog.

Anyway, let's just take a sampling of some more of the most fun-tastic generators out there (see previous posts for 10.24.07 and 11.8.08 for more).

First, there's mini-mizer. Here you can create a little lego character, perhaps in your own image. You start with a blank and then chose it's hair/hat and face.

and background.























Here's mine. It's me, on the weekend.























Or, how `bout making a word mosaic? The Image Chef site offers just such an opportunity. Just pick the colors, font and shape or symbol, and text to create something just as they did in this lovely example.




















Voila! I love it.























But you can also select initials rather than a shape or symbol and fill it with corresponding text. Voila again!























Well who doesn't love designing their very own logo? No one. I love to. Here's a place to make yourself a twitter-like logo.








Just enter your name, or whatever, and there you go.










That's a twit logo alright!





Next, you can make a miracle. `Tis the season after all. At Glass Giant you can add an image to any everyday object, such as the way the face of Jesus or the Virgin Mary often appear in sandwiches or on rotten logs.























Here I've taken the liberty of creating the miracle of me appearing on a pancake. Praises!


















Then, scurry on over to a site that let's you simulate self-mutilation.

Nostalgic for Summer? Here's Browser Beach Ball!

I love sites that offer fun little wastes of time. This one is just such a site as it features Browser Ball. It is not much more cool than you think it will be, but a little bit. Maybe.



















When you launch it, a window opens and inside of it sits a brightly colored beach ball.





















You move it around with your mouse and bounce it against the "walls" of the box for unlimited fun.





















But that's not all. You can open additional windows and, when they are touching the main window, the ball can continue straight through to them.














Separate the windows, though, and the ball can become trapped inside whichever one it's in.














Put them back together, and the ball moves freely through them once again.














Next, you can go ahead and create more little windows and trap the ball in those. I think we're through here.

HALLOWEEN Top 3

1) Hallowindow. This is cool. This site advertises a product which allows for spooky projections on one's windows to scare the crap out of small children, at least, as they approach to trick-or-treat. There are a ton of stores and web sites out there selling items for creating a haunted house, but the original Hallowindow is, well, an original. THere's also a Hallowindow II and III now.























But the original is slick and creepy and still my fave, after watching all the previews.























2) Girls and Corpses. It's not really a "Halloween site." It's actually a really creepy all-year-round thing, but it's more than creepy enough to be included in a Halloween top 3 because apparently there's a hard copy edition of this magazine available.

3) Anomalies Unlimited. This site has little informational tid-bits about various so-called anomalies, such as death, ghosts, aliens and chemicals.
